The location being in the river reservation governed by the city shall be subject to review and approval of the Taoyuan City Department of Water Resources. According to Article 78-1 of the Water Act: “Prior approval from the authority shall be obtained before engagement in the following activities in the river reservation: “…6. building fish ponds, growing oysters or raising livestock.” Any violators shall be sentenced to a fine of no less than NT$100,000 and no more than NT$500,000 as per Article 93-2 of the Water Act.
